Peter and Jessica are quite the playful and spontaneous pair. When I asked about their engagement, Jess confessed, "We woke up one day in October and decided, 'Hey, let's get engaged today!' So, we did."

"The center stone in my engagement ring was a family heirloom from Peter's Great Aunt Zola," said Jessica. I think Great Aunt Zola would like that it's being used again!
That's not the only family contribution to the wedding phenomenon, though. "We're trying to make the wedding as handmade and green as we can using DIY projects, Etsy, and local vendors," said Jessica. We'll DJ the wedding ourselves using song requests sent to us by our guests beforehand. And a close friend that we have known since we started dating 9 years ago will be marrying us."
Plus, they're having pinatas instead of a bouquet and garter toss!

The best part about these two, however, was that they completely surprised me by bringing a pair of goofy animal masks along.

I asked Jessica to share a little about the thrill of getting married. They picked a beautiful outdoor location on Peter's uncle's property in Bluemont, VA on the dock of a lake. (To which I sigh to myself, saying, "How romantic!!")
"We are so excited and can't wait, the next 5 months are going to be torture."
