Evan & Melodie: Elegant Swan Harbor Farm

As you can recall, Evan and Melodie chose to have their ceremony and reception at the lovely Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Mindy Best assisted me for the day, and we began at Melodie's house, where here dress was waiting while everyone's hair and makeup got done.

The bride's dress hangs in the bathroom.

She made for a beautiful bride, of course! One of the details she had warned me about in advance was that she had planned to surprise Evan with a camouflage garter. "I wasn't allowing anything camo-themed at the wedding otherwise," she said.

The glamorous garter.

Melodie's family was getting ready in the same house; she got to pin on her father's flowers, as well as spend some time looking glamorous with her bridesmaids.

Beautiful dresses and veil.

When we reached the farm, the flower girls were ready to put on their dresses. Mindy caught some sweet moments with the girls.

Ladies in waiting.

The ladies hid upstairs in the old farm house, while I went out to meet the men arriving in their tuxes. These guys were R-E-A-D-Y!

The groomsmen all together.

Check out those stud poses!

By the barn.

And what's the fun of being a groomsmen if you can't horse around a bit while ushering? Melodie spied on Evan as he waited to go out to the ceremony...

Horsing around.

...and made a stunning entrance.

The bride enters.

Kiss!!!

Married at last.

The bridal party helped Melodie bustle & prepare for the party later on. Of course we had to make a slideshow of more of the details and fun stuff that happened during the event, so here goes our fabulous video (please ignore my very pregnant belly!):

Of course, the startling thing was that Evan's best man got some mad cake in his face. He thought he was there to prevent the two lovebirds from pelting each other, but boy was he mistaken!

After the moving toasts and delicious cake (when is cake ever not a good idea?), they danced the night away... the tent was all lit up beautifully from the inside, and the night sky opened up wide all around us on the farm... I had to get away from the dancing (while Mindy kept shooting) and take a wide shot of the party from far away.

What a grand and beautiful day!
