Jeff and Mariko had a breezy and beautiful ceremony at Irvine Nature Center down in Baltimore, Maryland. With Mindy Best at my side to document the day, we split up to begin. I hung out with the girls as they slipped into their gowns and she with the guys while they put the finishing touches on their suits and ties.

We visited Sherwood Gardens for their first look, which turned into a game of cat-and-mouse, instigated by the groomsmen. Mariko went searching all over until she finally found Jeff, hiding in the trees.

Then, we arrived at Irvine. What a beautiful place! We had plenty of time before the ceremony, so the guests enjoyed their cocktail hour, and Mariko and Jeff enjoyed their guests.

What a lovely, loving ceremony. Jeff's father officiated. Mariko's mother read a poem in Japanese. Their friends read other tributes to love, and everyone passed around the wedding rings to warm them with their hands and good wishes.

Tomorow, the conclusion!
