all’s quiet on the blog
It’s pretty sleepy up here in Boston, what with all the snow. We’ve been buried under it several times in a single month, and I’m starting to believe that the earth’s surface is one giant reflective white mass. It takes three layers from top to bottom to keep warm next to our drafty windows, but I relish how simply alive the cold can make me feel. I cherish a hot cup of coffee or cocoa that much more when my fingers ache and stiffen from chill.

As with most Januarys, this month has been full of reflection, planning, and behind-the-scenes action. No, not that kind of action… more like an underground-fortress-building kind of activity. I’m in some kind of apocalyptic movie mode, preparing for long-term survival, and shedding unnecessary baggage.

I’ve started sharing my random thoughts and other personal work on a Tumblr blog I call Beauty & Nonsense. It’s refreshing to have an outlet for whatever my brain happens to gravitate towards (mostly pretty things and stupid things, hence the name). Looking back over the archive, even over the past month, I feel satisfied that I’ve kept my camera pretty active.

A number of wonderful things are brewing under the surface right now. A package arrived the other day that gave me a great boost. It’s part of a super secret project that’s taking on a will of its own, and will turn into something fabulous in the next few months. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll get to see it sooner rather than later.
