art is fun!

I’ve been seeing a lot of art lately, which is just plain awesome. Teaching photography means I have to go find great visual materials for my students to feast on. It’s gotten me back into the discipline of adding to my mental library of things to draw from. Of course, there are plenty of places to be inspired besides an art museum or a book. Like my friend Lisa, for instance.

I’ve known Lisa for what feels like forever now, and I’m so proud of her and her work. It’s been quite a journey for her to get to this point, and I can’t help but swell with pride over her art and achievements.

Check out that embroidery on the canvas!

Just lovely--active, yet peaceful.

Lesson one: go see art and be inspired! Lesson two: good, rewarding artwork can be just around the corner in your own backyard.
