Judy + Mike: Save the date stop motion animation!
Judy and Mike presented me with a rather surprising idea, just a week before we planned on photographing their engagement session.
“What do you think about doing a stop motion animation?” Mike asked me. My eyes widened. I had never done one before. At first, I thought, “We’re on a short timetable here! How long would that take? Could I do it in time? Yikes!” Then, I thought, “That would be SO AWESOME!”
So we made a plan. Mike and Judy put together some ideas for a storyboard. I sketched out some of the details, snagged a chalkboard for some animation, an off we went.
What a blast. It was a lot of fun, and a LOT of work, but well worth the effort, in my opinion. It was so exhilarating to break out of the normal rhythm and try something new. After the video was done, I pulled out some of my favorite shots and re-edited them with still photography and prints in mind.
I’m still impressed that they both managed to get on that bike together. Congratulations, Mike and Judy! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding in October!

Jocelyn, THAT IS AWESOME & UNIQUE! That must have taken SOOOO much time with the chalk board. You always go above and beyond for your clients. You amaze me!
