Megan + David: mountain top rehersal dinner in lush Vermont
I met David and Megan in person for the first time the evening before they were about to be married. Surrounded by their most intimate friends and family members, they basked in a warm, golden sunset surrounded by foliage just at the hint of turning toward autumn colors.
The forecast called for rain all day the next day, but Megan and David weren’t going to let it stop them so easily, or let it spoil the celebratory mood.
The friends broke for victuals down at Mountain Top Inn’s beach pavilion by the Chittenden Reservoir.
The talking got louder and more excited as friends filtered in from faraway places.
We snuck away for a few portraits down by the tall reeds and grasses.
David and Megan practically beamed; they soaked each other up like sponges.
And time for a canoe trip!
The sun began to set, and they navigated a little ways off the shore.
And they had observers shouting directions at them the whole time.
We made our way back in, and the eating and toasting began.
One moment caught my heart: watching David squeeze the life out of his beloved sister after she toasted him.
It began to rain off and on, but that didn’t stop folks from making a bonfire outside and toasting marshmallows late into the night.
Quite a fitting precursor to an autumn New England wedding, I’d say!

Really beautiful pictures! Gorgeous setting, gorgeous people.
