Dino + Emily: autumn wedding at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum
I’ve already gushed about how amazing it is to see two folks you care about get married to each other. Dino and Emily’s wedding was just beginning in my last post, and so here we begin with Emily getting out of a vintage Cadillac!
The anticipation of the groom as the bride walks down the aisle is always such a sweet moment.
The prayers and chanting began, while Emily’s lifelong priest and Dino’s father officiated, beginning with the Orthodox betrothal.
One of the grooms held his prayer rope closely during the service, not only giving the gift of his presence to the bride and groom, but also the gift of his prayers.
The common cup they brought had been used in the family for generations.
All those prayers and all those blessings and family symbols created a kind of electricity around the moment when Emily and Dino embraced and exited the service.
After the ceremony we took some time to have portraits taken in Larz Anderson Park right near the Auto Museum.
My favorite pick from the portraits…
…and time for the grand entrance…
…and a first dance!
I still tear up when I see these pictures–so sweet to see Emily and her father and Dino and his mother enjoying and relishing this day.
Enough with the slow dancing, people, let’s get things moving!
Everyone joined in on the Greek dancing…
And a celebratory bouquet toss!
After the floor had been cleared, more Greek music filtered in the room, and Dino really took the dancing to a whole new level.
